Capriotti’s: A Sandwich Chain Comes to Chicago

Lately, my blogs have been optometry-oriented. Nothing is wrong with optometry-related blogs, but I try to stress that students need to take a break from school and explore Chicago. I know my grandpa has missed reading about food, so what is the best way to explore Chicago? By eating, of course! I love Chicago foods, and I also love Thanksgiving food. So, when you have a sandwich that sounds like Thanksgiving year round, I am all in.

There is a new Chicago sandwich shop called Capriotti’s on Wabash Ave. While it is brand new in Chicago, Capriotti’s is a chain that has been around since 1976. After trying their sandwiches, I can say that Chicago is lucky to have this new shop!

So, what kind of sandwiches do they have? Their award-winning sandwich is called the Bobbie. The Bobbie has homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, mayo and stuffing! I also tried the Slaw Be Joe, which has roast beef, provolone cheese, Russian dressing, and mayo. Capriotti’s has vegetarian sandwiches, soups, and salads. Also, did I mention the sizes? You can choose between 9 inches, 12 inches, and 20 inches.

Try this place if you like HUGE sandwiches that remind you of Thanksgiving. My recommendation is to try the Bobbie, but bring a friend so you can try a second sandwich, too! I have only been once, but I definitely can’t wait to go back and get the Bobbie again.
